small Silvan is still gluing end flanges...
small The upper pqrt of the test crate, showing the Voltcraft power supply for the piggy power (+5V, to left prototype converter card) and the receiver power (-5V, right prototype converter card).
The (specially modified!) VME crate hosts, from left to right, a prototype converter card (slot 0), with a electrical-optical converter (EOC) on the back, a prototype converter card in slot 5, with a optical-electrical converter (OEC) on the back, and two production converter cards in slots 8 and 9.
small The Macintosh IIci, opened, with the Microtron interface in slot E
small   One converter card with the shield removed. In the lower part is a wire loop, which can be connected to "int" or "ext". For the TEST it must be connected to "int", otherwise an interlock will not allow to switch on the powers!

small Daniel, about to start
small The electrical connections are installed. Note the cross-over for the piggy power cable.

small This is all very nice, but it would be even nicer had we not forgotten the OPTICAL cables!
small
small Optical cables installed (only one receiver per piggy; this would be enough if all fibers worked, which - of course - they didn't!)

small It works, but can't really see it...
small ...not much better. Trust me, it works!
