Abstract We present the analysis of elastic photoproduction of $J/\psi$ mesons over the $W_{\gamma p}$ energy range larger than 135 GeV up to the kinematic limit ("high W analysis"). The analysis uses data from the 2000 running (Hera I) and selects events with two electrons in the final state, which are detected in the central detector and/or in Spacal. For the highest $W{\gamma p}$ energies ($>$ 235 GeV) both electrons enter Spacal and the corresponding electron tracks are found in the BST. Proton dissociation is tagged and removed using the forward detectors. The total cross section for $\gamma p o J/\psi p$, as a function of $W_{\gamma p}$ is presented.
