(2) ToF Status

Hardware status: The new ToF counters are tested and the new NIM 
electronics developed by A.Beglarian is fully functioning.  Concerns are 
raised that no spares for the constant fraction discriminators used 
throughout the system are available. 

Readout status: The new readout process will be developed on a RIO2 board 
running under LynxOS. First tests have been made to estimate readout times.  
The basic idea of the development is to unify the ToF readout such that ToF 
hit patterns and timing information are collected by a single system.  The 
ToF hit information will be collected via the new PTL2000 cards which 
provide pipelining etc.  Furthermore, it is planned to read out the time 
windows (gates) of all ToF windows such that IA and BG signals can be 
derived directly from the TDC data.  For this a multihit TDC, purchased end 
of last year, will be used.  Presently the layout of the new readout system 
is developed (location, crates, reception of STC signals, combination with 
other systems etc.)

Offline Software: New manpower is needed in order to take over the ToF 
offline software and develop programs for data quality control of the ToF 
system.
