BST z Positions

The BST support wheels are displaced from the nominal vertex point (z=0) into backward (e.g. electron beam) direction, their positions following a geometric series.
In the following list numbers in boldface mark those positions which are occupied by the BST (1998) setup. The numbering of possible positions is of no physics meaning.

Pad detectors are equipped on the last 4 positions only.

-358.59 mm - position 2
-392.05 mm - position 3
-428.63 mm - position 4
-468.62 mm - position 5

-612.41 mm - position 8
-669.55 mm - position 9
-732.01 mm - position 10
-800.31 mm - position 11
-874.98 mm - position 12
-956.62 mm - position 13

At positions 8, 9, 10, 11 in 1995 the first BST(1) prototype sat; at positions 10, 11, 12, 13 the BST(1) 1996/97 setup.

Note that the above shown 'nominal' positions refer to the vertex-bound surface of the pad detectors in even sectors; detectors in odd sectors are displaced into -z direction by 0.6 mm. For a detailed drawing of the geometry follow this link.
