Temperature Sensors

This is the arrangement of temperature sensors after the short shutdown in May 1999 - the number of sensors has been rised to the maximum possible and their distribution changed in order to investigate heat dissipation inside the electronic boxes. (Colors correspond to the online display.)

Three sensors had been installed in 1998 only (as due to the reduced number of repeaters):

• #1 - at frame, between discs 3 and 4 (closer to disc 4) next to the outer cover (reading is faulty)
• #2 - outside strip repeater box (phi segments 2/3, e.g. phi subrepeaters included)
  
• #3 - at pad repeater heat sink (phi segments 4/5)
