In more detail the 8 radial segments of each detector wedge are again subdivided into 4 pads covering approx. 5.5° of the same radial area each; but their digitized output is ORed before being transmitted to the subsequent logic. All four discriminators apply the same threshold. Hence this subdivision can be ignored by nearly every consideration.
