| Abstract | The combined HERA data on charm production in deep inelastic scattering have recently been used to determine the charm quark running mass m_c(m_c) in the MS-bar renormalisation scheme.
The same data are used differentially as a function of the photon virtuality Q^2 to evaluate the charm quark running mass at different physical scales to one-loop order.
The scale dependence of the mass is found to be consistent with QCD expectations, and a graphical represention of the charm mass running, similar to the representation of the beauty mass
running from LEP data, is obtained for the first time. |
