Abstract |
Results are presented on the production of isolated photons
ep -> egX
in deep inelastic scattering with a four-momentum transfer squared of 42
and a squared mass of the hadronic system WX2>2500 GeV2.
The cross sections, both inclusive and for events with zero or at least
one additional jet, are measured with the H1 detector at the electron-proton collider HERA.
The analysis is based on a total integrated luminosity of 227 pb-1.
The production cross section of isolated
photons with a transverse energy in the range 3 < ETg < 10 GeV
and pseudorapidity range -1.2 < etag<1.8.
is measured as a function of ETg,
etag and
and Q2.
The measured cross section receives contributions from
photon radiation by the quark as well as
wide angle bremsstrahlung of the initial and final leptons.
For these processes standard Monte Carlo
generators exist,
PYTHIA for the radiation by the quark and RAPGAP for radiation from the lepton,
as well as a full leading order calculation
at parton level, which includes also quark-to-photon fragmentation.
Both approaches underestimate the observed signal, particularly in the low Q2
domain. |
