Abstract Single-inclusive jet cross sections in deep-inelastic scattering for photon virtualities 5 < Q^2 < 100 GeV^2 are measured in a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.9 pb^-1 as a function of the jet transverse energy E T, of the ratio E T^2 / Q^2 and of the Bjorken scaling variable x Bj. Data are compared to next-to-leading order perturbative QCD calculations using Q^2 and E T as renormalisation scale. None of the two choices is able to describe the data over the full phase space region, in particular in the forward region towards the proton remnant. Possible explanations of this discrepancies are discussed.
