Conclusion

A highly compact electromagnetic calorimeter of 16 cm length was built. The calorimeter features a tungsten scintillator sandwich structure with projective readout and a highly advanced and compact low noise readout electronics which is crucial to meet the desired performance.

To obtain the final energy resolution from the recent testbeam measurements the channel intercalibration has to be applied to the energy resolution measurement. So far this can not be presented here.

The spatial resolution was found to be better than 1 mm for energies greater than 5GeV.

The calorimeter will go into operation in the H1 experiment in May 1998.
