Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering cross section measurement at medium and small photon virtualities

Abstract The cross section for the Deeply Virtual Compton Scattering (DVCS) process gamma^* p -> gamma p has been measured with the H1 detector at HERA in an extended kinematic domain. Using an integrated luminosity of 50 pb^-1, the differential cross section is presented in the kinematic region 2< Q^2 < 100 GeV^2 and 30 < W < 180 GeV as a function of Q^2 and W, using an integrated luminosity of 2 pb^-1 for 0.1 < Q^2 < 0.5 GeV^2 and 20 < W < 60 GeV. The measurements are compared to next-leading-order perturbative QCD calculations and color dipole model predictions.
